Disclosures

Updated October 5, 2026

DepositLens is free to readers and supported by advertising and, in some guides, referral partnerships. This page discloses how that works.

Advertising

We plan to display advertising (including Google AdSense) to cover hosting and research time. Ads are contextual and labeled; we do not control which specific ads appear, and an ad's presence is not an endorsement.

Referral partners

Some guide pages may mention services — for example, renter's insurance or deposit-alternative products — and, where a partnership exists, a link may earn us a fee if you sign up. Such links carry a disclosure note at the point of use. Partnerships never determine what we say about a state's law, and service descriptions would be the same without any partnership. We do not accept payment for reviews or rankings, and we do not link to services we would not mention anyway.

What we never do

We do not sell reader data (we do not collect personal data in the first place), accept payment to change a legal summary, or publish sponsored content disguised as editorial. If this ever changes, this page changes first.
